Perfume has a higher concentration of fragrance oils and lasts longer, whereas eau de toilette is lighter and more suitable for everyday wear.

Apply fragrance to pulse points such as your wrists, neck, and behind your ears. These areas help to diffuse the scent as your body naturally warms up. You can also mist the fragrance in the air and walk through it for a subtle all-over scent.

Women's fragrances often fall into several scent families: Floral, Fruity, Woody, Oriental, Fresh, and Aquatic, among others. Each family has its unique characteristics and appeal. Check out all the major women's scent families provided by Lancôme here.

Experiment with different fragrance samples within various scent families to see what resonates with you. Visiting a store where you can test fragrances on your skin is also helpful. Keep in mind that a fragrance can smell different after it has dried down on the skin.

Fragrances do have a shelf life, typically ranging from 3 to 5 years. They can change in scent or become less potent over time, especially if not stored properly. Keep them away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes to prolong their life.
